Sterile Processing Tech, Per Diem - West Valley Surgery Center

Job Description

Incumbent will perform duties as a Sterile Processing Technician to include: decontamination and/or processing of equipment and instrumentation, and distribution of supplies or equipment, as assigned within UCLA Healthcare. Cross training will be provided. Other major duties include, but are not limited to, customer service, departmental efficiencies and facilitates care and processing of surgical instruments.

We’re seeking a highly-skilled, self-motivated professional\nwith:

• 1\nyear of Sterile Processing experience required
• Ability to lift surgical trays weighing up to 25lbs, handle\nsurgical case carts weighing up to 200lbs.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time.
• Working knowledge of aseptic technique, sterile fields and\nthe principles of an Operating Room decontamination
• Demonstrated skills in proper maintenance and cleaning of\ninstrumentation.
• Correct use of various decontamination equipment and\ninstrument/tray sterilizers.
• Working knowledge of bacteriology and medical terminology\npreferred.
• Oral and written skills to collect and relay information\naccurately.
• Interpersonal skills to establish and maintain cooperative\nworking relationship with all staff.
•  Skill in performing\ncalmly during emergent and /or stressful situations by taking an appropriate\naction.
• Skill in working as part of a team.
• Ability in the correct usage of proper English grammar and\nvocabulary to orient and train team members.
