Youth Apprentice - Maintenance & Reliability
Work Mode: Onsite
Location: Onsite – Kohler, WI
Opportunity
Provide technical and analytical
assistance in the development of preventive maintenance programs, spare parts
development, and provide other routine technical services so as to achieve
maximum maintenance effectiveness.
Essential Functions
- Compile spare parts list for various state of
the art machines and production equipment throughout the manufacturing
facility.
- Write preventive maintenance
procedures for various machines and production equipment throughout the manufacturing
facility to ensure the equipment continues to perform in top condition
throughout its useful life.
- Familiarize himself/herself with
the machine and process it performs be inspection and review of manuals and
drawings.
- Frequent contact with project
engineers, maintenance personnel, machine manufacturers, and suppliers to understand
the equipment and work hand in hand to accomplish goals.
- Learn all aspects of mechanical components
used on manufacturing machines.
- Become familiar with machine drawings.
- Provide all other duties as assigned by
Supervisor.
Miscellaneous: (All Functions):
- Maintain work area: e.g.,
clean-up and keep materials and equipment in clean working condition, clean as required
and at the end of each shift.
- Assist co-workers as required.
- Report any equipment
abnormalities.
- Take initiative to address all
process and equipment malfunctions and problems.

- Maintain knowledge of and follow
all safety regulations in effect.
- Engage in learning activity to
upgrade skill sets, both interpersonal and technical.
- Acknowledge responsibility to the

- Perform all duties as assigned by mentor, and
or supervision.

Working Conditions
- Heavy industrial environment, including, but not limited to exposure to extreme heat and cold, dust, dirt, coolants, oils, noise, heights and confined spaces.
Skills/Requirements
Minimum Job Requirements
- Applies to all Youth Apprentices
- Required to take technical skills
test, to evaluate current knowledge of maintenance reliability.
Specific Skills/Knowledge
Required
- Must be enrolled in an accredited
high school technical education program with an emphasis in reliability, working
towards graduation.
Physical Requirements
- Frequent bending, lifting, and
pushing weights of up to 40 pounds or more.
