Trust & Estates Paralegal Requirements & Qualifications
  • Prior experience in Trusts & Estates, probate, or a related legal practice area preferred
  • Strong understanding of estate planning documents and probate procedures
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines simultaneously
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal case management systems
Trust & Estates Paralegal Preferred Background & Skills
  • Prior experience working in a law firm environment (private client or estate practice strongly preferred)
  • Familiarity with probate court procedures and filings
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients, beneficiaries, and financial institutions
  • Professional, client-facing demeanor with a team-oriented mindset
Trust & Estates Paralegal Day-to-Day Responsibilities
  • Draft estate planning documents, including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and healthcare directives
  • Support estate and trust administration, including probate filings and court documentation
  • Prepare and file documents with probate courts, ensuring compliance with deadlines
  • Communicate with clients, beneficiaries, financial institutions, and government agencies
  • Organize and maintain estate and trust files (electronic and physical)
  • Assist with asset collection, valuation, and distribution
  • Coordinate with accountants and advisors on tax-related matters
  • Track critical deadlines, including court filings and tax submissions
  • Conduct legal and factual research as needed
