Job DescriptionNursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1+ years OR RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A travel Registered Nurse with expertise in Operating Room nursing is needed to support surgical services in a dynamic healthcare setting. This role focuses on delivering high-quality perioperative care, ensuring patient safety, and collaborating closely with multidisciplinary teams during surgical procedures. Candidates should bring strong clinical skills and adaptability to a fast-paced operating room environment.
Location:Position based in Ankeny, IA, a vibrant city known for its welcoming community and excellent quality of life. Ankeny offers a blend of suburban comfort and urban amenities, with access to parks, dining, and cultural attractions in the nearby metropolitan area.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare operating room and surgical equipment according to procedural specifications
- Monitor and assist patients through all phases of surgical interventions
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to maintain sterile environments and efficient workflow
- Maintain accurate documentation and comply with safety and infection control standards
- Participate in post-operative care and patient handoff communications
Schedule:
- Day shift hours with the possibility of working up to 3 Saturdays within a 6-week rotation
- Facility closed on Sundays
- Holiday shifts determined by surgical volumes and may be required
Desired Experience & Qualifications:
- Current RN licensure with specialization or experience in Operating Room nursing
- Strong knowledge of perioperative protocols and patient safety practices
- Ability to adapt to changing schedules and work collaboratively within surgical teams
- Excellent communication and critical thinking skills
