This travel opportunity features a vital role in orthopaedic nursing within a specialized women's hospital setting. Ideal candidates will bring expertise in perioperative nursing for orthopaedic cases and the adaptability to work a dynamic schedule supporting elective surgeries and call coverage.

Location Overview:
Based in Coraopolis, PA, this role offers exposure to a collaborative environment in a modern orthopaedic operating room (ORT) setting. The hospital serves a diverse patient population with a commitment to advanced surgical care and team-focused practice.

Schedule and Hours:

  • Daylight shifts with weekly rotation:
    5:30 AM 2:00 PM
    6:30 AM 3:00 PM
    7:30 AM finish (includes elective cases and any add-ons)
  • On-call responsibilities
  • Weekend call coverage (6 AM to 6 PM), requiring coverage for 2 weekends every 6-week cycle
  • No elective surgeries on call weekends; primarily call coverage with low call volume
  • The 7:30 AM shift extends to complete elective/add-on cases, potentially working 1-2 hours past scheduled time

Responsibilities:

  • Provide skilled perioperative nursing care for orthopaedic surgeries
  • Collaborate with a small team of 6 (3 RNs and 3 scrub techs) to cover two orthopaedic ORs across a five-day workweek
  • Manage patient safety, surgical instrumentation, and aseptic technique during procedures
  • Stay flexible to complete all add-on cases after scheduled hours as needed
  • Participate in weekend call work ensuring prompt response to surgical needs

Qualifications/Desired Experience:

  • Current RN licensure with perioperative and orthopaedic nursing experience
  • Ability to thrive in a small, team-oriented OR environment
  • Comfortable working a rotating and occasionally extended shift schedule
  • Strong communication skills and a commitment to patient-centered care
  • Willingness to participate in weekend call rotation
