Job Description

Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) Certification and minimum 2+ years Surgical Tech / Operating Room Tech experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

An opportunity is available for a skilled nurse with experience in Orthopedic Surgical Technology (ORT) to support surgical operations in a well-established womens hospital. This travel position offers the chance to work within a focused, professional team dedicated to providing exceptional perioperative care.

Schedule/Hours:

• Daylight shifts with rotating weekly schedules:
  • 5:30 AM to 2:00 PM
  • 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM
  • 7:30 AM to finish (includes elective cases and add-ons)
• Weekend call coverage from 6 AM to 6 PM (2 weekends required every 6 weeks)
• No weekday call; however, the later shift requires staying to complete elective cases and any additional procedures, occasionally extending the shift by 1 to 2 hours

Qualifications / Desired Experience:

• Proven nursing experience in Orthopedic Surgery or ORT settings
• Ability to work effectively in a small, collaborative team environment
• Flexibility to rotate shifts and provide weekend call coverage as outlined
• Strong commitment to patient safety and procedural accuracy
• Capacity to adapt to extended hours occasionally when add-on cases arise

Responsibilities / Duties:

• Provide perioperative nursing care in two Orthopedic ORs, supporting surgical teams during elective and add-on cases
• Collaborate with a close-knit team of RNs and scrub techs to ensure smooth, efficient OR operations
• Maintain readiness for weekend call coverage, ensuring appropriate support during lower volume call periods
• Adhere to hospital protocols and safety standards to deliver optimal patient outcomes
