Nursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1+ years OR RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A Registered Nurse with expertise in the Operating Room is needed for a 13-week travel assignment in Vail, Colorado. This role involves assisting during surgical procedures by maintaining a sterile field and providing instrumentation support to the surgical team. Work under the direction of a Registered Nurse in a dynamic perioperative setting, contributing to high-quality patient care in alignment with AORN standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Apply expert knowledge of sterile and aseptic techniques throughout invasive therapeutic and diagnostic procedures.
  • Maintain and verify the integrity of surgical instruments and sterile supplies, ensuring a safe operating room environment.
  • Monitor the sterile field for potential contamination and initiate corrective actions when necessary.
  • Achieve or maintain competency with Tier 1 surgical cases.
  • Communicate effectively with the perioperative team and actively participate in Time Out processes, including Briefings and Debriefings.
  • Assist with patient transport, surgical room turnovers, and preparation.
  • Maintain professional development and stay current with new technologies, surgical instruments, and procedures.
  • Clean and prepare instruments for terminal sterilization.
  • Uphold principles of a Just Culture and ensure HIPAA compliance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Licensed Surgical Technologist in the state of Colorado (required).
  • Completion of a Certified Surgical Technologist program and/or Licensed Surgical Technologist.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by the American Heart Association.
  • Computer proficiency to complete online training and documentation.
  • Working knowledge of English (reading, writing, speaking).

Schedule:

  • Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts.
  • Guaranteed 32 hours per week.
  • Preferred start date: May.
