An opportunity is available for a skilled Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in the Operating Room environment to support a surgical team in a dynamic, fast-paced setting. This travel assignment offers a 13-week engagement focused on delivering high-quality patient care within a renowned surgery center located in a vibrant mountain community.

Responsibilities include assisting during surgical procedures by maintaining a sterile field and providing appropriate instrumentation. The role requires expertise in sterile and aseptic techniques, knowledge of human anatomy, and familiarity with surgical procedures. Monitoring the operating room environment for safety and contamination, supporting patient transports, room preparation, and adherence to professional standards like AORN and HIPAA are essential components of daily duties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize sterile and aseptic techniques in surgical settings in compliance with AORN guidelines.
  • Ensure all surgical instruments are correctly packaged, processed, and sterile before use.
  • Monitor and maintain the integrity of the sterile field during procedures.
  • Participate fully in perioperative team communication processes, including Briefings and Debriefings.
  • Assist with patient transport and operative room turnover efficiently.
  • Stay current with new surgical technologies, instrumentation, and equipment.
  • Promote a Just Culture and adhere to safety and ethical practices.
  • Maintain BLS certification and comply with all licensing requirements.

Desired Qualifications and Experience:

  • Licensed as a Surgical Technologist in Colorado (required).
  • Completion of a Certified Surgical Technologist program.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by the American Heart Association.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of AORN standards and sterile technique.
  • Proficient computer skills to complete job competency requirements.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English.

Schedule and Location:

  • Location: Vail, CO, a premier mountain destination known for stunning alpine scenery, outdoor recreation, and a welcoming community.
  • Shift: Days
  • Schedule: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (3x12)
  • Guaranteed hours: 32 per week
  • Preferred Start Date: May
