Our Interns are our entry-level talent pipeline for Photronics. Our goal is to provide students with a meaningful work experience that will equip them with the skills to embark on a career in the fast-paced and growing Semiconductor/Manufacturing industry after graduation. As an intern, you'll experience work assignments that prioritize your growth and potential, professional development opportunities, and the chance to network with executives. Our Summer Internship Program provides students and recent grads with hands-on engineering experience.
The Supply Chain Intern will support the global supply chain team on projects involving spend analysis, supplier evaluation, and process improvements. During the internship, you will gain hands-on experience supporting sourcing initiatives, improving supplier performance tracking, and helping organize key supply chain documentation and systems. This role provides exposure to how global manufacturing companies manage suppliers, costs, and operational efficiency.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Conduct spend analysis for cleanroom consumables (e.g., gloves, garments, supplies) and manage the RFQ process to secure optimal pricing.
- Evaluate the current annual supplier scorecard process and recommend a streamlined process flow for implementation.
- Identify critical supply chain documentation and design/revise the team's SharePoint site to enhance policy and procedure accessibility.
- Perform ad hoc financial evaluations to support procurement decisions and system improvements.
- Identify and assess the potential supply base for manufacturing consumables to ensure business continuity.
- Assist in the development of tools and workflows that improve supply chain visibility and efficiency.
- Additional responsibilities as required.
Location: Photronics Allen, TX (US). This is an on-site position.
Duration: 10-12 weeks
Qualifications (Knowledge, Skill & Qualification)
- Ability to analyze basic cost data and interpret operational or financial information.
- Self-motivated with the initiative to complete assigned projects and deliverables.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Excel for data analysis; experience with SharePoint or similar tools is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail when working with reports, data, and operational information.
- Ability to learn new systems, tools, and supply chain processes quickly.
- Organized with the ability to manage tasks and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills when working with cross-functional teams.
- Problem-solving mindset with interest in improving processes and operational efficiency.
- Interest in pursuing a full-time career in Supply Chain Management or Operations.
Education
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Rising Sophomore, Junior, or Senior preferred.
- Interest in or exposure to a manufacturing or operations environment is a plus.
