Job Details

Our client is seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to oversee day-to-day field operations on commercial construction projects. This individual will play a critical role in ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and to the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership abilities, the capability to build and manage project schedules, and experience coordinating subcontractors and field teams on active job sites.

This role is ideal for a hands-on field leader who enjoys managing complex construction activities while collaborating closely with project managers, subcontractors, and clients.

As a Superintendent, you will be responsible for:

1. Overseeing all stages of project life cycles, ensuring that projects are completed within time and budgetary constraints.
2. Coordinating multiple subcontractors and trades, ensuring all parties are aligned and working towards project completion.
3. Reading and interpreting construction drawings, specifications, and project documentation to ensure the project is executed as per the plan.
4. Conducting regular site inspections to ensure safety standards and regulations are upheld.
5. Liaising with clients, architects, and engineers to discuss and resolve matters such as work procedures, complaints, and construction problems.
6. Developing and implementing quality control programs.
7. Preparing and submitting budget estimates, progress reports, or cost tracking reports.
8. Implementing changes to work scope and updating the schedule as required.
9. Identifying and resolving conflicts in construction progress and communicating them to stakeholders.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

1. A minimum of 5+ years of experience as a Superintendent or in a similar role in the Construction industry.
2. Proven experience in coordinating multiple subcontractors and trades.
3. Demonstrated ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and project documentation.
4. Strong leadership and team management skills.
5. Excellent problem-solving abilities.
6. Exceptional communication and negotiation skills.
7. Proficiency in construction management software.
8. A degree in construction management, architecture, engineering, or related field is preferred.
9. Knowledge of construction health and safety regulations.
10. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
