Ready to solve challenging problems at global scale? Join Amazon's OTS Supply Chain team as a Sr Systems Development Engineer to transform technology infrastructure through innovative Gen-AI powered solutions to critical supply chain systems & problems.

Build scalable, distributed systems supporting Amazon's global supply chain operations. Architect unified platforms consolidating multiple ordering channels, implement real-time validation services, and develop workflow automation systems. Design data ingestion engines, financial tracking services, and role-based access control frameworks. Drive technical decisions balancing system reliability, performance, and feature velocity while mentoring engineers and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Key job responsibilities
System Architecture & Development

- Architect and build distributed micro-services handling millions of transactions daily with 99.99% uptime SLAs
- Design unified platforms consolidating legacy systems into single customer interfaces
- Implement real-time validation services with sub-second response times
- Develop scalable data ingestion engines supporting multiple formats with guardrail-based validation
- Build workflow automation systems with configurable approval routing and SLA tracking
- Optimize database queries and caching strategies ensuring sub-100ms response times for critical paths
- Design event-driven architectures using AWS services (Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, S3, SQS, SNS)

Technical Leadership

- Drive architectural decisions for platform components and integration patterns
- Mentor engineers through code reviews and technical design discussions
- Establish best practices for system design, testing, and deployment
- Collaborate with product managers translating business requirements into technical solutions
- Lead incident response and root cause analysis for production systems

Platform Features & Integration

- Implement versioned planning systems with controlled modification workflows
- Build financial tracking services displaying real-time budget data
- Develop audit trail infrastructure supporting compliance requirements
- Create role-based access control managing granular user permissions
- Integrate with enterprise systems ensuring data consistency across distributed platforms

Join RDPI Supply Chain's Product & Portfolio engineering team building technology powering Amazon's global operations. Work alongside product managers, program managers, UX designers, and business analysts delivering unified platforms that consolidate ordering channels, automate workflows, and provide real-time financial tracking. Collaborate with teams across Amazon integrating with enterprise systems and AWS services. Influence technical direction while solving complex distributed systems challenges at unprecedented scale. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 6+ years of developing large-scale, multi-tiered distributed software systems using distributed programming experience
- Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Python, Ruby, Golang, Java, C++, C#, Rust
- Experience with AWS platforms, services, and design patterns
- Experience with architecting highly available systems that utilize load balancing, horizontal scalability and high availability
- Knowledge of overall system architecture, scalability, reliability, and performance in a database environment
- Experience working with REST API based services, or experience in software development
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering, or experience with version control systems and CI/CD pipeline implementation

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience in supply chain program, project, or automation related product management, or leading an implementation of a product
- Experience using ERP/CRM/Commission software, and various data warehouse systems
- Knowledge of large scale automation and workflow management or equivalent
- AWS certification, such as, AWS Solutions Architect, or a similar cloud certification, or Cloud Technology Certification
- Experience writing technical articles, speaking at technology conferences, and contributing to open source

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
