Job DescriptionMaster's degree in Speech-Language Pathology, active SLP license and 1+ year of Speech-Language Pathology experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A school-based Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) contract opportunity is available in Jersey City, NJ, starting in September 2026 for a 12-week assignment. This role involves full-time hours (35+ per week) providing direct speech and language services primarily within elementary school settings.
Positions include working with students from kindergarten through 5th grade, focusing on populations with a high incidence of autism as well as preschool learners. Three full-time openings are available across two schools:
- Elementary position with high Autism and Preschool populations at Matthew Jago #28 in Sewaren, NJ
- Elementary position with high Autism and Preschool populations at Kennedy Park #24 in Iselin, NJ
- One additional school-based position (location to be determined)
Key qualifications and desired experience:
- Valid NJ SLP License and NJ SLS Certification required
- Clinical Fellows (CF) with outside supervision accepted, although Certified Clinical Competence (CCC) is prioritized
- Experience working with pediatric students, including those on the autism spectrum
- Onsite work required; no remote options
- Speech-Language Pathology Assistants (SLPAs) are not eligible for this role
Responsibilities:
- Conduct speech and language evaluations and deliver therapy sessions to K-5 students with diverse communication needs
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and school staff to support student progress
- Maintain documentation and comply with school district requirements
- Participate in team meetings and develop individualized education plans (IEPs) as required
