Job Description

Special Education Teacher (K-5) for a 36-week contract in Grimesland, NC. Responsible for creating inclusive lesson plans, managing classroom behavior, and collaborating with staff and families to support diverse learners. Earn up to $48/hr with premium pay and comprehensive benefits.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan engaging lesson plans tailored to K-5 students with diverse learning needs.

  • Maintain a positive classroom environment conducive to learning and student development.

  • Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and administrators to support student success.

  • Assess and report on student progress, adjusting instruction as needed.

  • Manage classroom behavior effectively to foster a respectful, productive atmosphere.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Special Education, or equivalent.

  • Current North Carolina teaching license or special education certification.

  • Minimum 1 year of teaching experience in a K-5 school setting.

  • Strong classroom management skills.

  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Patience, adaptability, and ability to work within a team.

  • Background checks and drug screening required.

  • Ability to work standard daytime hours.
