Shipping Specialist

Wieland is hiring a Shipping Specialist. The Shipping Specialist will be responsible for accurately updating and entering production-related data. Additional tasks include data entry, communicating with clients, and working closely with other departments, such as Production and Sales to ensure customer orders will be delivered on-time and with the utmost professionalism. This role is located in Coppell, TX and will be fully on-site.

Responsibilities

Shipping Specialist Responsibilities:

  1. Provide customer service by staying on top of pending orders and customer requests
  2. Compare and select online tools for the cost effective and quality transit of goods
  3. Coordinate with the Sales and Production Teams to provide shipping information
  4. Communicate with customers regarding shipping status, issues and/or delays
  5. Troubleshoot problems with customer orders, accounts, and related issues
  6. Properly set up and review BOL's if received from outside support
  7. Ensure the proper documentation corresponds to customer PO's
  8. Utilize software to complete order entry, shipping, and invoicing
  9. Coordinate regularly with various shipping carriers and brokers
  10. Track and communicate available inventory and material stock
  11. Update warehouse equipment log for recordkeeping purposes
  12. Manage documentation and maintain updated filing system
  13. Process documentation for domestic/international shipping
  14. Review records for accuracy and report any discrepancies
  15. Correct missing, incomplete, and/or inaccurate records
  16. Promptly respond to calls, emails and correspondence
  17. Document orders, records and files as needed
  18. Coordinate with interconnected departments
  19. Other shipping-related tasks as assigned
Qualifications

Shipping Specialist Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in administration, data entry or a related field preferred.
  • Understanding of metals and/or manufacturing industries preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products
  • Proficiency with computers and data entry
  • Fluent English language skills, both speaking and writing
  • Ability to work under pressure in fast-paced environments
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects and deadlines
  • Strong attention to detail (critical skill)
  • Ability to communicate professionally with customers, coworkers and management
  • Ability to work as part of a team and offer assistance to teammates when necessary
