Position Summary
Work under the direction of the Shipping and Receiving Supervisor. Must be cleared as Employee Possessor by Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms as required by the Safe Explosives Act. Must have ability to be certified for fork lift training when/if required
Essential Duties And ResponsibilitiesPerforms a variety of Shipping and Receiving related duties within facility. Prioritizes, packages and prepares outgoing shipments. Receives, verifies and transfers material to Receiving inspection. Load and unload trucks
Lifts heavy objects by hand or with material moving equipment
Loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks and shelves by hand
Must be able to lift and negotiate up to 60 pounds
Perform final packaging of various shipments
Palletize, secure, wrap freight as required
Perform shipment planning and create Bills of Lading
Coordinate pickup & deliveries with Freight Forwarders/carriers
Identify, package, and certify hazardous materials for movement via all modes
Follow ITAR and international regulations on export control
Perform Vehicle inspections on outbound munitions
Receive and count inbound materials
Identify/ report damage, overages and shortages on inbound materials
Enter material data into company operating system (WDS)
Utilize Microsoft office suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, Access)
Identify/follow security procedures for classified/confidential materials
Required Experience And Education:Broad knowledge of inventory control, supply chain operations and business administration in a manufacturing environment is preferred. Product, process and systems knowledge in related activities plus 2-3 years of related experience. Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of personnel.
Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of personnel. Inventory control, planning, purchasing or logistics experience required. Working knowledge of Excel, Word, Outlook, and Power Point. Extensive experience with MRP/ERP systems required. Fluent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to create and deliver training materials and business presentations at all levels.
Required Skills, Knowledge And Abilities:Requires good math, reading and computer skills. An understanding of charts, tables, specifications, schedules, use of adjustable measuring instruments; checking of reports, forms, records and comparable data; interpretation is required. A High School diploma or GED is required. Must be able to study for and pass FL State Blaster License. Must complete 80-hour DOT/DOD hazardous materials course (on-line).
Working ConditionsWorking conditions generally consist of office and shop-floor environments; other than safety glasses, additional personal protective equipment maybe required as needed, (puncture proof gloves, etc.) Maybe required to lift 20 30 on an occasional basis. Weekend and evening work may be required to accommodate priorities, deadlines and schedules.
