Our client, a well-established manufacturing company, is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to provide technical leadership for the design, development, and continuous improvement of mechanical components, products, and manufacturing processes.

This is a hands-on engineering role for someone who enjoys taking projects from concept and design through prototyping, production, and continuous improvement. The Senior Mechanical Engineer will work closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Purchasing, and Operations to develop cost-effective, manufacturable designs and improve existing products and processes.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic team in the manufacturing industry. The successful candidate will be a key player in designing, developing, testing, and refining high-quality mechanical components and systems. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, innovative environment and is passionate about engineering solutions, product development, and process enhancement.

Responsibilities:

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, your chief responsibility is to oversee the mechanical engineering department's operations and ensure that the processes align with the overall business goals. Your duties will include:

1. Designing and implementing cost-effective equipment modifications to help improve safety, reliability, and throughput.
2. Developing project specifications by studying product design, customer requirements, and performance standards.
3. Creating, reviewing, and modifying mechanical drawings using AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
4. Performing full lifecycle product development (design, develop, test prototypes, manufacture, and implement).
5. Designing systems and components that meet needs and requirements.
6. Conducting experiments methodically, analyzing data, and interpreting results.
7. Testing and evaluating theoretical designs and processes.
8. Ensuring a product can be made reliably and will perform consistently in specified operating environments.
9. Using research, analytical, conceptual, and planning skills, particularly mathematical modeling and computer-aided design.
10. Considering the implications of issues such as cost, safety, and time constraints.
11. Working with other professionals, within and outside the engineering sector.
12. Monitoring and commissioning plant and systems.

Qualifications:

To be considered for the Senior Mechanical Engineer position, you must possess the following:

1. Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical engineering, specifically in the manufacturing industry.
3. Proficient in 2D or 3D engineering design and manufacturing tools (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, etc.).
4. In-depth knowledge of high voltage systems and their operations.
5. Excellent documentation and control skills.
6. Proven experience with Lean/Six Sigma methodologies.
7. Strong problem-solving skills and a creative approach for new ideas.
8. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
9. The ability to work under pressure and multitask.
10. Excellent team-working and people skills.
11. A keen eye for detail and a results-driven approach.
12. Professional Engineering (PE) license is preferred but not required.
