Requirements & Qualifications:
- 10+ years of maritime project management experience
- Strong background in steel vessel construction and shipyard operations
- Deep knowledge of USCG and Classification Society standards
- Proven leadership experience managing cross-functional teams and subcontractors
- Ability to manage complex budgets, schedules, and project lifecycles
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement
- Ability to work in fast-paced, evolving project environments
Must Haves:
- Lead end-to-end execution of steel vessel fabrication projects, including sequencing, material flow, and delivery timelines
- Act as the primary liaison between ownership groups, regulatory bodies, and internal production teams
- Identify project risks early and implement mitigation strategies to keep builds on track
- Drive collaboration between engineering, production, and subcontractor teams to resolve technical challenges
- Present project updates, performance metrics, and improvement initiatives to senior leadership
- Champion safety protocols while maintaining aggressive production schedules
- Mentor junior project managers and supervisors to elevate overall team capability
Preferred Background & Skills:
- Experience working in shipyards or heavy industrial manufacturing environments
- Background managing multiple concurrent vessel builds or large-scale fabrication projects
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing or continuous improvement methodologies
- Strong financial acumen with experience managing project P&L
- Experience implementing process improvements or operational efficiencies
- Prior experience interfacing directly with vessel owners or government stakeholders
