Job Description

A historic inn is seeking a Seasonal Head Chef to lead our scratch kitchen for the May–October season. This is a year-round salaried role with lighter off-season responsibilities.


Seasonal Head Chef Requirements and Responsibilities

  • Lead dinner service (Tuesday–Saturday) and oversee all kitchen operations
  • Execute creative, New England-inspired scratch cuisine
  • Manage and train seasonal kitchen staff
  • Oversee private events and weddings from planning through execution
  • Maintain food cost controls, ordering, inventory, and sanitation standards
  • Collaborate with ownership on seasonal menu development
  • Assist with kitchen setup before season and breakdown after closing
  • Adapt to a small-team environment where flexibility is essential
