This contract opportunity is for an Itinerant Music Therapist serving school settings in the New Market, MD area. The role involves providing specialized music therapy services to support students' educational and emotional development within the framework of public school programs. This position requires one day per week commitment with a contract running until June 5th, 2026.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver individualized and group music therapy sessions tailored to student needs
• Collaborate with educators, therapists, and families to integrate music therapy goals into Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Assess and document student progress through appropriate evaluations and reports
• Maintain compliance with district policies and therapy standards
• Travel to various school sites as assigned within the district to provide consistent services

Qualifications and Experience:

• Valid Maryland Music Therapy license
• Proven experience in a school-based music therapy setting preferred
• Ability to work independently and manage caseload effectively
• Strong communication skills for collaborating with multidisciplinary teams

Location:

• This position services schools within the Frederick County Public Schools district, based in New Market, MD. Specific school assignments will be determined.
