Nursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1+ years RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

This contract opportunity is for substitute nurses to support schools in the Palmerton, PA area for the 2025/2026 school year. Positions are needed in multiple locations including Parryville, Bowmanstown, Apps, Cherryville, and surrounding communities. The role is ideal for Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN/LVN) or Registered Nurses (RN) with school health experience ready to provide essential nursing coverage on a per diem basis.

Responsibilities:

• Serve as a substitute school nurse, stepping in when the regular school nurse or health room technician is unavailable
• Provide first aid, medication administration, and basic health assessments for students
• Ensure student health records are accurate and confidential
• Collaborate with school staff to support student well-being and maintain a safe health environment
• Respond promptly to student health concerns and emergencies during the school day

Qualifications:

• Current and valid LPN/LVN or RN license
• Experience or comfort working in a school nursing environment preferred
• Ability to follow healthcare protocols and manage multiple student health needs efficiently
• Strong communication skills and ability to interact positively with students, parents, and educational staff
• Reliable and flexible to fill short-notice assignments when needed
