Job Description

Master's degree in Occupational Therapy, active Occupational Therapist license and 1+ year of Occupational Therapy experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Providing occupational therapy services in an educational setting for a diverse group of students, this full-time contract position is based in Muskegon, MI, and serves classrooms within Fruitport Community Schools and Ravenna Public Schools. The role focuses on supporting students from preschool through 8th grade, primarily those with moderate cognitive impairments or Autism, including students in Regional Moderate Cognitive Impairment programs and a small Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) population.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct occupational therapy interventions to approximately 49 students, adapting approaches to meet individual needs.
• Support students within resource rooms and ECSE settings to promote functional skills and classroom participation.
• Collaborate closely with educators, specialists, and administrative staff to facilitate holistic student support.
• Maintain thorough documentation and complete Medicaid billing using the EdPlan system.
• Participate in training and orientation sessions to ensure familiarity with software and district procedures.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Licensed or certified Occupational Therapist with experience in school-based settings.
• Demonstrated ability to work with children having moderate cognitive impairments and Autism.
• Proficient in managing documentation and billing, preferably with EdPlan or similar systems.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
• Commitment to supporting student growth and success in an educational environment.

Schedule & Location:

• Full-time schedule, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 3:45 PM.
• Travel required between classrooms in Fruitport Community Schools and Ravenna Public Schools.
• Comprehensive mileage reimbursement provided for travel between sites.
