Nursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1+ years RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

This opportunity is for a Registered Nurse (RN) with school nursing experience to support students in a school setting located near Washington Navy Yard, DC. This contract position offers part-time hours and a chance to work in a supportive educational environment during the 2024 summer session.

Position Details:

• Part-time, 20-25 hours per week
• Various caseloads from early childhood through 8th grade
• Summer assignment with possibility of extension

Qualifications:

• Valid Connecticut RN license required
• Previous school nursing experience preferred, especially in special education settings
• Ability to manage diverse student health needs effectively

Responsibilities:

• Provide nursing care and health assessments for students across multiple caseloads
• Collaborate with school staff to support student health and well-being
• Administer medications and treatments according to plans of care
• Document nursing services and communicate effectively with families and educational teams
• Support the special education population with personalized health care plans
