School-Based Registered Nurse (RN) - Blue Springs, Missouri

Nursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1+ years RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A skilled Registered Nurse is needed for a contract position in Blue Springs, MO, supporting multiple school sites within the district. This role involves being a general health room nurse, providing care for students from Pre-K through 12th grade. The nurse will float between schools, cover field trips, and often be the sole RN on-site, responsible for managing the health room independently.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide nursing care and health assessments to students across various grade levels.
• Float to multiple school sites daily, including potential field trip coverage.
• Manage and operate the health room independently after an initial two-week training period.
• Utilize electronic charting systems to document care and maintain accurate records.
• Adapt to fluctuating schedules, with hours typically between 7:00 AM2:30 PM or 9:00 AM4:30 PM, depending on school start and end times.
• Communicate effectively regarding schedule changes and student health needs.

Desired Qualifications:

• Active and clear Missouri RN license with no restrictions.
• Recent pediatric nursing experience preferred, ideally in ICU, ER, or school nursing settings.
• Proficiency with computer systems and electronic medical record charting.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a dynamic school environment.
• Flexibility to work varying schedules and travel within the district each day.
• Strong communication skills to coordinate with school staff and respond to emergent situations.

Location: Blue Springs, MO (no travel outside district)

This is a contract position requiring 35-40 hours per week, starting as soon as possible through May 28th. Zoom interviews will take place during the week of March 30th, with an initial phone prescreen.
