Safety Coordinator Requirements & Qualifications


  • Direct experience in commercial electrical construction safety, specifically with contractor firms (not corporate settings)
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and electrical safety standards
  • OSHA 30 certification required
  • Data center and/or healthcare construction experience strongly preferred
  • CHST, STS, or CSP certifications preferred
  • Excellent communication, organization, and leadership skills


Safety Coordinator Preferred Background & Skills


  • Experience with electrical construction projects
  • Ability to coordinate with multiple contractors and trades
  • Background in supporting project-site safety for complex, high-expectation environments


Safety Coordinator Day-to-Day Responsibilities


  • Conduct daily jobsite safety inspections and audits for electrical construction activities
  • Ensure all activities comply with OSHA, NFPA, client-specific, and company standards
  • Lead safety orientations, toolbox talks, and ongoing field safety training sessions
  • Investigate incidents, near misses, and safety concerns; document findings and implement corrective actions
  • Monitor compliance with PPE usage, fall protection, LOTO procedures, and confined space protocols
  • Coordinate with general contractors, owners, and other trades to maintain safe work environments
  • Assist project teams with Job Hazard Analyses, pre-task planning, and risk mitigation
  • Maintain accurate safety documentation, compliance records, permits, and reports
  • Support emergency response planning and participate in regular safety meetings
  • Travel between multiple local project sites as needed
