Kitchen Manager Requirements & Qualifications


  • Proven experience as a kitchen manager, head chef, or similar leadership role in a high-volume restaurant setting
  • Strong leadership skills and proven ability to motivate and manage a team
  • Extensive knowledge of food safety regulations and procedures
  • Excellent time management, organization, and multitasking abilities
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Familiarity with CrunchTime or similar inventory/variance management systems
  • Valid driver’s license required
  • Ability to work 50–55 hours per week, including mornings, nights, and weekends


Kitchen Manager Preferred Background & Skills


  • Experience coaching and mentoring diverse kitchen teams
  • Enthusiasm for driving a positive, festive atmosphere


Kitchen Manager Day-to-Day Responsibilities


  • Set the standard for high-quality menu execution and kitchen excellence
  • Lead, coach, and inspire team members through pre-shift meetings and daily interactions
  • Oversee all kitchen operations, including inventory, order management, and scheduling
  • Enforce safety and sanitation practices to ensure compliance
  • Manage kitchen budgets, control expenses, and optimize labor costs
  • Execute staff training programs and maintain certified trainer standards
  • Foster a positive work culture that prioritizes both guest and team member satisfaction
