About the RoleClarvida is seeking a Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist to deliver psychiatric and medication management services to program clients in San Diego, CA. This PT 29 hours a week contract position pays starting at $160/hr and includes supervision of nurse practitioners, registered nurses, and providing clinical oversight in coordination with other staff. You’ll diagnose, evaluate, and monitor psychiatric treatment within a team-based, trauma-informed care model. Responsibilities
- Perform psychiatric evaluations, diagnoses, and assessments
- Prescribe medication and monitor side effects
- Supervise and provide clinical oversight to NPs, RNs, and support staff
- Participate in treatment planning and multidisciplinary team processes
- Maintain clinical documentation and reporting standards
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA, licensing, and ethical guidelines
- Consult with external medical professionals as needed
- May provide direct therapy or emergency psychiatric consultation
- Collaborate with nursing staff and other clinicians to integrate care
- MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
- Board certified or board eligible in Psychiatry
- Licensed to practice medicine independently in California
- Completion of psychiatry residency and 2-year child & adolescent fellowship
- Strong leadership, clinical, and communication skills
- Proficiency with electronic health records
- Experience working with youth or in community mental health settings
- Prior experience supervising nursing or psychiatric teams
- Familiarity with public mental health systems
- Starting at $160.00 per hour
