Paralegal - Trust and Estates Requirements & Qualifications


  • 4+ years of paralegal experience, ideally in estate planning, trust administration, or a related field.
  • Strong working knowledge of estate planning processes, trust structures, and relevant tax considerations.
  • Demonstrated experience drafting complex estate planning documents.
  • Proficiency with legal software such as Clio, HotDocs, or related systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with a client-first approach.


Paralegal - Trust and Estates Preferred Background & Skills


  • Experience supporting high-net-worth or complex client matters.
  • Prior training or oversight of junior paralegals.
  • Ability to coordinate with attorneys, financial advisors, and accountants.


Paralegal - Trust and Estates Day-to-Day Responsibilities


  • Draft and review sophisticated estate planning documents, such as wills, trusts, partnerships, and foundations.
  • Support attorneys in developing and executing advanced estate planning strategies.
  • Conduct research on estate, gift, and generation-skipping transfer tax laws to inform recommendations.
  • Serve as a client-facing point of contact, providing updates and addressing questions.
  • Maintain and organize detailed case files, track deadlines, and ensure compliance.
  • Coordinate execution and proper filing of estate planning documents.
  • Support trust funding and estate administration processes, including asset transfers and beneficiary coordination.
