ALA - Shift 2 ($3) (United States of America - Alabama)

A BRIEF OVERVIEW
The Operations Technician I, Laser Processing performs various operations that support the production of parts. They are also cross-trained on and can perform numerous operations within an area without supervision

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Maintains process setup sheets and tooling/fixture sheets to compliment Laser programs for the production floor.
  • Maintains basic etch programs.
  • Remains current on Laser, and CAD/CAM (CNC) programming methods and equipment.
  • Assist in generating simple laser programs.
  • Assist in analyzes problems and applies problem-solving skills to resolve technical problems.
  • Assist in implementing improvements in Laser, possible CNC programming, general processing techniques, and tooling changes to improve part quality, schedule performance and to reduce manufacturing costs.
  • Performs other duties as needed such as fixture design, drawing review, engineering documentation and follow-up, etc. Assist engineers and engineering support staff in daily functions. Might include some duties outside the Laser responsibility to ensure product quality in a cost effective and expedient manner.
  • Detect and report faulty equipment, defective material and any unusual conditions to the department Supervisor or Lead.
  • Use hand truck, pallet jack, carts and tables to safely transport product.
  • Dimensionally inspect work, using appropriate tools including, but not limited to; calipers, comparators, pin gauges, measuring instruments and surface plates, etc. as required.
  • Maintain work area, tools and equipment in a clean and organized condition.
  • Complete all required training.
  • Support Lean Manufacturing and EHS initiatives.
  • Support quality and compliance by adhering to all procedures, work instructions, and forms per the Quality Management Systems (QMS)
  • Follow work orders to perform operations on various parts and products
  • Follow designated safety rules and regulations.
  • Reinforces safety expectations. Ensures safety operating practices are demonstrated. Reports issues/concerns to Supervisor.
  • Perform weekly housekeeping per 5S schedule.


EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Or Equivalent (Preferred)


EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS

  • No previous work experience required (Preferred)
  • Manufacturing Experience (Preferred)
