Job Summary and Qualifications

Performs those duties directly involved with administering a variety of nuclear isotopes for the purpose of scanning for and detecting pathology. Regulates the equipment used to scan for the isotope and send images to PACS. Assists in the daily operation of the Nuclear Medicine Department. Establishes and maintains a good rapport and professional relationship with fellow employees.

Responsibilities: 

  • Under the guidance of a Nuclear Medicine Physician, the Nuclear Medicine Technologist accomplishes one or a combination of several general radiographic procedures. 
  • Performs a technical level requiring a high degree of independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative to apply isotopes for radiographic diagnosis 
  • Performs test in-patients and out-patients 
  • Utilizes a variety of Nuclear Medicine cameras and varied equipment.
  •  Administers pharmaceuticals and radiopharmaceuticals as outlines in Nuclear Medicine Scope of Practice
  •  Demonstrates industry in radiation safety. 
  • Performs other duties as assigned. 
  • Practices and adheres to the “Code of Conduct” and “Mission and Value Statement.

What qualifications you will need:
  •  Graduate of an accredited program in Nuclear Medicine or Radiographer 
  • Certified Radiology Technologist with the Florida Department of Health 
  • Certified CT Tech, MRI Tech, Nuclear Med Tech, Ultrasonography, or Mammography AART Certification in Nuclear Medicine AART 
  • Certification in Radiology, CTI, MRI, Ultrasound or Mammography 
  • Basic Life Support
