Job Shift: 1st Shift

Hours: 7AM to 3:30PM Monday through Friday

Locations: Grand Rapids, MI

Rate: $18 - $21

Job Summary: The Material Handler is responsible for ensuring that the correct material is pulled and labeled for job orders and that material returns are collected from production work centers and processed throughout the day. Additionally, the material handler is responsible for inventory accuracy, organization and traceability related to raw materials.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Pull material as listed on the Job Order Bill of Material (BOM).
  • Tag properly in accordance with Sur-Seal ISO standard
  • Pull proper quantity
  • Ensure traceability of the material is accurately recorded on BOM
  • Ensure rotation of inventory follows the first in/first out process
• Stage material in the proper cage or floor space
  • Raw material should not sit directly on the floor
  • Staged material is the responsibility of the Material Handler until job starts
• Collect and process returned material with proper traceability
  • Ensure material is properly stored to prevent damage
  • Locate material to designated material zone
• Relocate overflow material from the small building to the main warehouse shelves as needed
• Daily cycle counts as determined by the Material Coordinator or Team Leader
• Keep material aisles clean and free of trash and debris
• Keep material racks organized and neat with tags visible
• Maintain organization and cleanliness of the small building warehouse
• Assist in other areas when necessary or requested

Knowledge/Skills:

• Ability to operate material handling equipment
• Accuracy, organization, detailed oriented
• Ability to effectively communicate with all departments in the company
• Ability to work independently and in team environment to meet daily goals
• Ability to consistently lift 50lbs
