SMS Staffing Inc. is hiring immediately for material handlers in Pleasant Prairie, WI. This is a temp to hire position with a pay rate of $18-$19/hr. The shift structure is 2nd shift Monday-Friday, 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM.

About the Role:

The job requires the ability to make safe decisions in the moving and handling of hazardous and non-hazardous chemicals. This position involves safety-sensitive functions.

General Responsibilities of a Material Handler:

• Responsible for the safe handling, storing, labeling, and loading/unloading of materials.
• Maintain the integrity of materials stored in the warehouse.
• Pull chemicals and components in accordance with special instructions on Picking Lists.
• Store materials in various racks, shelves, and floor locations.
• Operate Drum Dollies, Forklift, Reach Truck, Power and/or Manual Pallet Jack.
• Safely loading, unloading, and transporting hazardous and non-hazardous chemicals.
• Safely complete tasks and duties as trained.
• Complete cycle counts as requested and participate in full physical inventories as scheduled.
• Neatly and accurately complete all necessary paperwork applicable to the task.
• Report any safety issues, incidents, and/or safety violations immediately to Management.
• Wear appropriate PPE, as required.

Other Duties:

• Maintains a clean and safe working environment.
• Execution of activities as assigned.
• Responsibilities involving food safety, when required.

Qualifications:

• Basic math, writing, and reading skills are required.
• Must have at least 2 years of forklift experience.
• Minimally lift 50 lbs frequently during the shift.
