Our Grande Prairie Lumber Mill has an immediate opening for a Weekday Dryside Maintenance Team Leader/ Site Maintenance Scheduler.

The successful individual will be responsible for both the safe and efficient coordination/supervision of team members engaged in the maintenance of the planer mill, as well, they will be the interface between the maintenance planner's requests for maintenance service, the prioritization of requests and the delegation of the maintenance resources. This will include supervision and development of team members, by working on the safety and reliability culture through influencing values. This position plays a critical role in the continuous improvement of efficiency through improved workflow and by being a liaison between operations and maintenance. Position is weekday, Monday to Friday, with the potential for an occasional weekend shift to support vacation.

Key Functions:

  • Use of computer-based programs to support effective prioritization of maintenance requests, manage maintenance inventory, and delegate maintenance resources

  • Active oversight, development of and participation in preventative maintenance activities to reduce unscheduled downtime

  • Establishment and verification of effective communication across maintenance & production teams/shifts

  • Provision of immediate feedback and recommendations on problems and opportunities

  • Ownership for driving continuous improvement in the area of reliability and work management systems.

Qualifications:

Applicants should have demonstrated:

  • Industrial, maintenance experience and/or maintenance related post-secondary education combined.

  • Ability to lead safety through personal commitment, values and Weyerhaeuser procedures.

  • Basic knowledge of industrial safety procedures and regulations.

  • Ability to generate commitment and motivate team members toward a common goal.

  • Strong communication skills: written, oral and listening.

  • Demonstrated ability to be a team player by being open to other ideas, valuing the strengths of others, remaining -flexible, showing compassion, and is a positive advocate of others.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities to meet both internal and external customer needs.

  • Demonstrated effective facilitation and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to track/measure performance utilizing standard methods/tools.

  • Good planning and organizing ability.

  • Ability to problem-solve and engage team members in a team environment.

  • Basic understanding of business and financial concepts.

  • MS Office, Network Applications, SAP proficiency.

  • Exact shift configuration and placement within the Maintenance Leadership team will depend on level of experience and background of the successful candidate. Weekend work required.

Preference will be given to those candidates who have:

  • Vocational/technical school certificate or degree in related area/or equivalent industrial experience

  • Experience with SAP or another CMMS

  • Previous experience as an industrial millwright, electrician or multi-craft.

Compensation: This role is eligible for our annual merit-increase program, and we are targeting a salary range of $95,588 - $139,469 based on your level of skills, qualifications and experience. You will also be eligible for our Annual Incentive Program, which offers a cash bonus targeting 10% of base pay. Potential plan funding may range from zero to two times that target.
