Transportation Broker Associate

We are seeking a highly motivated entry level Transportation Broker Associate to join our dynamic freight brokerage team. This role is critical in building and maintaining strong carrier relationships, optimizing truckload capacity, and ensuring exceptional service delivery to our customers. The ideal candidate will possess deep knowledge of carrier networks, customer supply chains, and freight market dynamics, with a proven ability to drive strategic partnerships and cost-effective solutions.

Responsibilities

The Transportation Broker Associate plays a pivotal role in the success of the freight brokerage division by owning the end-to-end carrier relationship lifecycle. This includes strategic sourcing, capacity planning, cost control, and service execution. The role directly influences the brokerage's ability to meet customer expectations, optimize transportation spend, and achieve annual operating goals. The position requires cross-functional collaboration with operations, sales, and customer service teams, and demands a high level of responsiveness, strategic thinking, and market insight. This role also serves as a key escalation point for carrier-related issues and is expected to provide 24/7 support as needed to ensure seamless execution and service continuity.

• Develop and maintain a strong working knowledge of strategic freight carriers' daily truck capacity and network capabilities.
• Understand and align with customers' supply chain operations, service requirements, and new initiatives to ensure a favorable.
• Lead all aspects of carrier prospecting, onboarding, negotiations, and relationship management to foster long-term partnerships.
• Serve as the primary escalation point for carrier development issues, providing 24/7 accountability and support to ensure
• Maintain consistent communication with carriers and internal teams via phone, including active participation in phone queues.
• Support and enforce key brokerage Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and protocols.
• Manage and mitigate carrier costs through both short-term and long-term contractual strategies.
• Participate in on-call rotations, including after-hours, holiday and weekend coverage, as required by business needs.

Compensation and Benefits

• The expected compensation range for this position is between $54,700 - $82,050.

• High School Diploma
• Ability to effectively interact and build a favorable business relationship with all customers
• Ability to learn key freight brokerage dynamics and industry best practices to excel at the role
• Ability to effectively negotiate the desired outcome
• Strong team player and committed to teamwork in all situations
• Strong communication skills to provide professional updates to customers
• Results oriented with the ability to complete assignments in a timely manner
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize assignments when necessary
