Legal Assistant – Construction Litigation

A full-service law firm is seeking a Legal Assistant to join its Construction practice group in Chicago. This is a hybrid opportunity to work in a collaborative environment supporting attorneys on construction-related litigation matters. The team is open to training candidates with strong litigation support experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide administrative and legal support to construction attorneys
- Manage calendars, schedule meetings, depositions, and travel
- Maintain and organize case files
- Prepare, format, and proofread legal documents and correspondence
- Assist with e-filing in state and federal courts
- Track court deadlines and maintain docketing
- Open new matters, run conflict checks, and prepare engagement letters
- Submit expenses and invoices
Qualifications
- 5+ years of legal assistant experience
- Litigation experience in a law firm required
- Construction law experience preferred but not required
- Experience with state and federal court filings required
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
