Kitchen Manager Requirements & Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of F&B management experience
- Experience in leadership of a scratch kitchen as a Sous Chef, Executive Sous Chef, Kitchen Manager, Chef de Cuisine, or Executive Chef
- Manager ServSafe Certification and required state alcohol certification
- Graduate of accredited Hospitality Management program or equivalent preferred
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) skills are highly valued
- Availability to work holidays, nights, weekends, and extended hours during peak times
- Able to stand, walk, and climb stairs for prolonged periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and work comfortably in a busy kitchen environment
Kitchen Manager Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Oversee all kitchen operations ensuring smooth shifts, especially during busy service periods
- Lead, develop, and schedule the kitchen team while promoting a positive, professional atmosphere
- Ensure food quality through line checks, tasting, and adherence to recipes and presentation standards
- Manage inventory, ordering, storage, and rotation to meet food cost and safety standards
- Collaborate with management to identify and nurture future kitchen leaders
- Uphold compliance with all safety, sanitation, and operational procedures
- Respond quickly to challenges or emergencies to uphold exceptional guest satisfaction
