Kitchen Manager Requirements & Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of F&B management experience
  • Experience in leadership as a Sous Chef, Executive Sous Chef, Kitchen Manager, Chef de Cuisine, or Executive Chef
  • Manager ServSafe Certification and required state alcohol certification
  • Graduate of accredited Hospitality Management program or equivalent preferred
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) skills are highly valued
  • Availability to work holidays, nights, weekends, and extended hours during peak times
  • Able to stand, walk, and climb stairs for prolonged periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and work comfortably in a busy kitchen environment

Kitchen Manager Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Oversee all kitchen operations ensuring smooth shifts, especially during busy service periods
  • Lead, develop, and schedule the kitchen team while promoting a positive, professional atmosphere
  • Ensure food quality through line checks, tasting, and adherence to recipes and presentation standards
  • Manage inventory, ordering, storage, and rotation to meet food cost and safety standards
  • Collaborate with management to identify and nurture future kitchen leaders
  • Uphold compliance with all safety, sanitation, and operational procedures
  • Respond quickly to challenges or emergencies to uphold exceptional guest satisfaction
