We are seeking a dynamic, experienced, and highly skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic/Technician to join our team in the Manufacturing industry. This is a permanent, full-time position that offers a competitive salary and benefits package. As a Heavy Equipment Mechanic/Technician, you will be responsible for handling, maintaining, and repairing our diverse range of heavy machinery and equipment, including diesel engines, agricultural equipment, forklifts, lifts, and cleaning equipment. This role requires a deep understanding of mechanical systems, an eye for detail, and a commitment to safety and efficiency.
Responsibilities:
1. Perform regular diagnostic tests on machinery and equipment to ensure optimal performance.
2. Conduct routine inspections of machinery and equipment to identify and respond to signs of malfunction.
3. Carry out heavy equipment repairs in a timely and efficient manner.
4. Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to all safety protocols and standards.
5. Oversee the installation and operation of new machinery and equipment.
6. Provide recommendations for improving equipment performance and longevity.
7. Maintain accurate records of each repair performed on machinery.
8. Work closely with the team to troubleshoot and resolve any operational issues.
9. Stay updated on industry trends, equipment advancements, and maintenance methods.
Qualifications:
1. High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
2. Minimum of 5+ years of experience as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic/Technician in the Manufacturing industry.
3. Proven experience with diesel engines, agricultural equipment, forklifts, lifts, and cleaning equipment.
4. Excellent understanding of mechanical and electrical systems.
5. Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders.
6. Familiarity with safety standards and regulations in the Manufacturing industry.
7. Exceptional problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
8. Strong physical condition and endurance, capable of lifting heavy machinery and working in physically demanding conditions.
9. Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
10. Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
11. Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings, if necessary.
