Job Description

Facility Excavator Operator

Clean Harbors is seeking a Facility Excavator Operator for their La Porte, TX facility. As an Excavator Operator at this facility, you will be responsible for operating a mid-size excavator to stabilize shredded non-hazardous material into a solid state and then filling roll off boxes; moving boxes using a roll off truck; scanning and inventory management. This is an outdoor position.

Shift: 6:30 am-3:00 pm; position will average about 50 hours a week with overtime.

Pay: $24/hour DOE

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring that Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and acting in a safe manner at all times
  • Operates one of the following: primarily mid size excavators but at times may need to operate trucks to move roll off bins around or forklifts
  • Scanning and inventory management will be a required part of this job, as this is not just an equipment operating role
  • Completes daily checklist as required for proper operation of the unit being operated
  • Completes and submits all associated paperwork as required for waste tracking movements
  • Performs other duties and tasks as assigned from time to time by management and will be required by the needs of the Clean Harbors business

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record required
  • 1+ years' experience operating excavators
  • Roll of truck experience is a plus
  • Forklift experience a plus
  • Ability to use a laptop and knowledge of Microsoft office (excel, word, outlook) as well as willing to learn Clean Harbors programs
  • Ability to work outside in all weather conditions is required
