Design Engineer

A respected civil engineering firm is looking to add a Design Engineer to its team. This position suits an engineer who enjoys staying close to the technical work, contributing immediately to active projects, and collaborating within a small, highly engaged group.

Role Overview

• Take the lead on transportation design efforts while mentoring and supporting junior engineers
• Develop both preliminary and final design plans and technical deliverables
• Contribute to projects involving roadway rehabilitation and reconstruction, intersections, traffic signal systems, roundabouts, drainage, and shared-use paths
• Apply INDOT, LPA, and AASHTO standards throughout all phases of project delivery
• Work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure accuracy, quality, and timely execution

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
• Active Indiana PE license or ability to obtain licensure within six months
• 4–8 years of experience in transportation engineering
• Strong familiarity with INDOT standards, processes, and design criteria
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D
• Comfortable joining ongoing projects and contributing with minimal onboarding

Preferred Experience

• Traffic signal and/or roundabout design
• Drainage design and utility coordination
• Sidewalk, curb ramp, or multi-use path design
