HYBRID WORK OPPORTUNITY Must be Located in CHICAGO AREA!
With the direction and guidance of the Supervisor, Demand Planning, the Demand Planner II is responsible for forecasting demand, analyzing inventory levels on assigned accounts and/or commodity item groups, making purchases to sustain demand, while minimizing inventory investment. Special attention must be paid to improving turns, identifying inventory levels that exceed demand, and minimizing aged inventory.
Responsibilities:
- Account management/ commodity management - medium to high level of complexity
- Analyze inventory levels and forecasts needs
- PO processing of manual and E3 due orders
- Manage E3 History Exceptions
- AWR E3 (Average weekly rate) maintenance
- Generate and maintain run out reports and open PO reports
- Coordinate new store programs
- Attend conference calls with clients and sales and contribute specific information
- Manage turns and aged inventory on assigned skus
- Maintain costs through Purchase Price Variance (PPV) review
- Prepare forecasts and run out schedules for clients
- Execute cost change direction and timing
- Review and follow up on daily, weekly and month end reporting
- Execute forecast changes
- Prepare and enter monthly transfers
- Participate in account launches for clients
- Manage program additions for clients
- Conduct line reviews and cost reduction efforts with Category Management team
- Identify and resolve supplier issues
- Manage open purchase orders with vendors
- Attend vendor meetings and share forecasting information as needed
- Process inventory returns to vendors, write-offs and destructions
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Associate's degree or higher education highly preferred
- 5+ years of purchasing inventory experience
- 5+ years working in a distribution warehousing or purchasing environment with hands on exposure to basic inventory management principles and systems, or experience in a retail store or retail supplier business.
- Certification in E3 Levels I, II and III preferred
- Generate reports; Utilize Pro Diver, manipulate and run existing queries and World Writers
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills: formatting, basic formulas, reports, look up tables, pivot tables, and data mining
- Demonstrates critical thinking, project management, and problem-solving skills
- Must be able to certify in E3 (demand planning system) at Level I and II and III
- Self-motivated and detailed oriented
- Excellent organizational, communication, and customer service skills
- Anticipate and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
Compensation: Salary Range $60K - $70K annual depending upon education and experience with up to a 10% bonus opportunity.
