We are seeking an experienced Construction Accountant to support the financial operations of a well-established excavating and civil construction company. This role is ideal for an accounting professional with hands-on experience in job costing, WIP reporting, cost-to-complete analysis, and municipal billing who understands the financial flow of heavy civil and site work projects.

Construction Accountant Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and maintain monthly Work-in-Progress (WIP) schedules
Perform cost-to-complete analysis and track project financial performance
Monitor job costs, budgets, and forecasts for active projects
Support municipal and public sector billing, including:
- Requisitions / pay applications
- Progress billing
- Tracking approvals and collections
Ensure accurate revenue recognition in accordance with job progress
Work closely with project managers to reconcile costs, quantities, and percent complete
Maintain job cost data and project records within Procore
Assist with month-end close related to job costing and project accounting
Provide financial insight related to:
- Civil site work
- Vertical construction
- Pump stations and infrastructure projects
Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting best practices

Construction Accountant Qualifications:

4–6 years of construction accounting experience, preferably within excavating or civil construction
Strong working knowledge of:
- Job costing
- Cost-to-complete reporting
- WIP schedules
Experience with municipal / public sector billing and requisitions
Proficiency with Procore (required)
Solid understanding of civil construction environments, including:
- Civil site work
- Vertical construction
- Pump stations
Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Comfortable working in a deadline-driven environment

Construction Accountant Compensation & Benefits:
