Civil Designer (3+ Years Experience)


We are seeking a Civil Designer with 3+ years of experience to join a growing, employee-owned civil engineering firm. This role offers the opportunity to work on a diverse portfolio of projects while collaborating closely with engineers, project managers, and clients in a supportive, ownership-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities


  • Prepare civil engineering plans for land development, municipal, and infrastructure projects
  • Develop site layouts, grading plans, utility designs, roadway alignments, and erosion control plans
  • Produce plan and profile drawings, details, and construction documents
  • Assist with preliminary and final design phases, including exhibits and conceptual layouts
  • Perform quantity take-offs and support cost estimates
  • Coordinate with engineers and project managers to ensure design accuracy and constructability
  • Revise plans based on internal reviews, client feedback, and permitting agency comments
  • Maintain CAD standards and follow established workflows and procedures

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in civil design for site development or infrastructure projects
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D (required)
  • Working knowledge of grading, drainage, utilities, and roadway design
  • Familiarity with local, state, and federal design standards and permitting processes
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet project deadlines
  • Strong attention to detail and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, engineering technology, or a related field
  • Experience supporting municipal, commercial, or residential land development projects
  • Exposure to design-build or public-sector projects
