CDL A Lowbed Driver – Heavy Equipment Hauling Requirements & Qualifications


  • Valid Class A CDL (required)
  • Clean driving record and current DOT medical card
  • 2+ years CDL A driving experience
  • Lowbed / lowboy hauling experience required
  • Experience hauling heavy construction equipment (excavators, loaders, etc.)
  • Strong knowledge of load securement and DOT regulations.
  • Ability to operate equipment for loading/unloading (preferred).
  • Willingness to work flexible hours as needed.


CDL A Lowbed Driver – Heavy Equipment Hauling Preferred Background & Skills


  • Background in construction or heavy equipment transportation.
  • Familiarity with local routes and job site deliveries.
  • Basic mechanical knowledge of trucks and trailers.


CDL A Lowbed Driver – Heavy Equipment Hauling Day-to-Day Responsibilities


  • Safely operate a CDL A truck with lowboy/lowbed trailer in all weather conditions.
  • Load, secure, transport, and unload heavy construction equipment.
  • Ensure equipment is properly tied down and secured, complying with all DOT regulations.
  • Transport equipment to and from job sites within a 20–30 mile radius.
  • Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections of truck and trailer.
  • Maintain accurate delivery logs, equipment reports, and communicate with dispatch regarding schedules.
  • Promptly report any mechanical or safety issues.
