The Catering Server is responsible for delivering exceptional guest service while assisting with the setup, execution, and breakdown of catered events. This role requires professionalism, attention to detail, and the ability to engage with guests in a friendly and efficient manner, with the ultimate goal of ensuring total guest satisfaction.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Greet guests in a friendly, professional manner and provide exceptional customer service throughout the event
• Serve plated meals, buffet items, hors d'oeuvres, beverages, and other food and beverage offerings in accordance with event standards
• Maintain knowledge of menu items and be able to answer basic guest questions regarding food and beverage offerings
• Assist with event setup and breakdown, including arranging tables, chairs, linens, place settings, buffets, and service stations
• Rearrange furniture before, during, and after event(s) as directed by management
• Clear tables, remove used dishes and glassware, and maintain a clean and organized event space throughout service
• Assist with replenishing food, beverages, supplies, and service equipment as needed
• Perform general cleaning tasks to adhere to health and safety standards
o Keep work areas clean and organized
o Organize catering storage areas and service equipment
• Ability to strictly adhere to company uniform standards, including maintaining personal hygiene and a well-groomed appearance, in accordance with company policy at all times
• Mastery of and fluency in the English language – a must
o Ability to effectively communicate with team members, supervisors, and guests
• Must be polite, professional, and able to engage with guests while maintaining a hospitality-focused mindset
• A natural willingness and drive to exceed guest expectations
• Ability to effectively listen and take direction from supervisors
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team during setup, service, and breakdown
• Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds on a continuous basis
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during the course of an event
