Bus Driver

Under limited supervision, the Bus Driver safely transports passengers to specific destinations for social, educational, recreational purposes. Posted pay range is the starting salary. Pay rate offered is based on experience.

Examples Of Duties

Provides safe and effective bus transportation for social, educational and recreational programs; assists passengers on and off vehicles; performs routing maintenance and inspections prior to each trip; preparing accident reports; follows verbal and written instructions; enforces rules and policies; provides excellent customer service.

Performs routine maintenance safety checks on vehicles; researching destinations and preparing route maps; assisting passengers in loading and unloading; and, acting as first responder in emergencies.

Researches destinations via internet sites and route maps; programs and operates GPS and other navigation tools; surveys customers to assure travel destinations.

Assists with special events by planning and preparing props, setting up, and tearing down.

Provides support to the recreation center by assisting with custodial support; provides support for after hour operations.

Experience And Training

High school diploma or GED equivalent

Six (6) months of experience as a bus driver or in a similar position that required driving clients/customers.

Certificates And Licenses Required

Class A or B CDL with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements.

CPR/First Aid/AED within sixty (60) days of employment.
