We are looking for a Bar Manager to lead and elevate bar operations for an upscale, high-volume restaurant. This hands-on role is perfect for candidates who thrive in fast-paced environments, have a passion for cocktails, beer, and wine, and excel at managing and developing talented teams. You’ll ensure exceptional beverage service, operational efficiency, and strong cost control, while working closely with the Beverage Director and restaurant leadership to deliver a memorable guest experience.
Bar Manager Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all bar operations, including staff recruitment, training, coaching, and scheduling
- Supervise daily bar service to ensure quality, consistency, and adherence to standards
- Collaborate with Beverage Director to develop and execute cocktail menus and beverage offerings
- Oversee inventory management, ordering, and supplier relations for liquor, beer, and wine
- Implement cost control measures and monitor budgets to maximize sales and efficiency
- Ensure compliance with all licensing, safety, and sanitation regulations
- Conduct staff meetings, communicate company policies, and maintain a professional, high-performing team
- Monitor bar display and organization to maximize both functionality and visual appeal
- Maintain accurate cash-up and administrative procedures
- Proven experience managing a bar or beverage operation in a restaurant or hospitality setting
- Comprehensive knowledge of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, cocktails, and service standards
- Strong leadership, coaching, and team development skills
- Experience with cost control, budgeting, and administrative processes
- High School Diploma required; tertiary certifications such as ABRA license or TIPS certification preferred
- Knowledge of relevant computer applications and basic accounting procedures
- Flexible to work evenings, weekends, and high-volume shifts
- Salary: $60,000–$70,000 (or hourly plus bar shifts, depending on experience)
